Energy Budgeting

Zero-sum energy budgeting

The Budget page lets you plan how you want to spend your energy each week using a zero-sum approach: every point of energy is assigned to a category before the week begins, so nothing is left unaccounted for.

Note: Energy budgeting is a premium feature.

How it works
  1. Set your weekly total. Your weekly energy budget is the total pool of energy you plan to allocate.
  2. Allocate to categories. Distribute your total across the categories that matter to you. The “Unassigned” pool shows how much is left to distribute.
  3. Track actuals. As you log entries during the week, each category shows how much of its allocation has been used.
  4. Compare weeks. An adjacent column shows the previous or next week for easy comparison.
Category management
  • Groups – organise categories into groups (e.g. “Self-Care”, “Work”) for a cleaner view.
  • Recurring targets – set a weekly target for any category and it will carry forward automatically.
  • Carryover – enable carryover on a category to roll unused energy into the next week.
  • Reorder & hide – drag categories up and down or hide ones you don't need right now.
Quick actions
  • Transfer – move energy between two categories mid-week.
  • Zero-out – set a category to zero and optionally add a journal note explaining why.
  • Set from averages – auto-fill allocations based on your historical spending.
Daily allowance

Your daily energy allowance is influenced by your mood check-in. If today's mood differs from your default, you'll see a prompt to adjust your allowance accordingly.
